About Chennault Aviation
Chennault Aviation, located in Conroe, Texas, about 50 minutes drive north of downtown Houston is a comprehensive aviation company dedicated to excellence in flight training, mechanic training, aircraft maintenance, and airfield operations.
Rooted deeply in aviation history, our company was founded to honor and perpetuate the extraordinary legacy of Lieutenant General Claire Lee Chennault and the famed Flying Tigers, heroes whose bravery and skill transformed aviation and military strategy during World War II.

One Company, Four Complementary Divisions
What began as Chennault Aviation Academy (CAA) has evolved into a fully integrated aviation group with five specialized subsidiaries, each playing a unique yet interconnected role within the aviation ecosystem.
- 1Chennault Aviation Academy (CAA) – A premier flight training school dedicated to producing skilled, disciplined, and safety-conscious pilots.
- 2
Chennault Aviation Maintenance Academy (CAMA) – A hands-on, high-standard training ground for future aircraft maintenance technicians.
- 3Chennault Aviation Maintenance Service (CAMS) – A professional maintenance shop delivering quality aircraft maintenance to the aviation community.
- 4Chennault Airfield (25TX) – A private airport built to support the academy and serve as a hub for the general aviation community in the greater Houston area.
Safety – Our First Priority
Safety First is more than a motto, it is a guiding principle that places safety above all other considerations. Nothing takes precedence over the safe operation and maintenance of our aircraft or the ongoing well-being of our employees and customers.
We integrate proven military training practices into civilian aviation education, instilling military standards of conduct in our instructors, students, and maintenance personnel.
This disciplined approach produces not only FAA-licensed pilots but also mature, self-disciplined aviators. Every student and employee is expected to uphold the high standards of a Flying Tiger.
The Chennault Legacy
Chennault Aviation proudly bears the name of General Claire Lee Chennault, an aviation pioneer renowned for leading the American Volunteer Group known as the Flying Tigers. Known for their distinctively shark-faced P-40 Warhawk aircraft, the Flying Tigers played a critical role in defending China from Japanese forces during World War II. General Chennault’s innovative tactics and unwavering commitment to excellence, safety, and integrity have inspired our approach and standards in every aspect of our operations.
We are proud to have General Chennault’s granddaughter serving as Chairwoman of the Board, reinforcing our deep connection to the history and values we represent. We are also proud supporters of the Chennault Aviation & Military Museum, ensuring that this rich heritage continues to inspire generations to come.
Our mission is to honor General Chennault’s legacy by providing exceptional aviation education and maintenance services that meet and exceed industry standards. We foster a culture of integrity, discipline, and professionalism, preparing our graduates and employees to excel in aviation careers and positively impact the industry.
Company Location
Chennault Airfield (25TX) is much more than just a runway; it’s where our vision takes flight. As the only private airport in the greater Houston area exclusively for general aviation and flight instruction, 25TX offers a safe and efficient training environment. We’re building it to be a thriving hub for the local general aviation community, creating a vibrant space where small aircraft are welcomed and the love of flight can truly flourish.
