Vision For a Thriving Community

Building a thriving community dedicated to General Aviation.

At the heart of this vision is the aviation academy, which is the educational hub on the Chennault Airfield. The academy offers a comprehensive curriculum for aspiring pilots and , fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and a love for aviation.

Outside the academy building, the airfield will accommodate small GA aircraft by providing the infrastructure and hangar spaces. Chennault Airfield is well-positioned to welcome small aircraft displaced in increasing numbers from larger, more congested airports nearby. By providing a dedicated space for these aircraft, the airfield will alleviate pressure on neighboring airports and contribute to more efficient and less crowded airspace.

Beyond the immediate aviation activities, the airfield will enable the growth of ancillary businesses and services. Aero club, maintenance shops, fueling stations, and aircraft supply stores will find a ready market in the airfield community.

Location Background

Chennault Aviation and former Cut & Shoot Airport-19TE.

Chennault Aviation Academy, a full-service flight school dedicated to the education and training of future aviation professionals, embarked on an ambitious project in 2022. CAA acquired the former Cut & Shoot Airport-19TE, a cropduster grass airstrip, with the vision to transform it into a modern and well-equipped private airfield.

The acquisition was part of a strategic plan to establish a new headquarter for the academy and foster a vibrant General Aviation community in the North Houston area. The construction of the new airfield began in late 2022, marking the start of a new chapter in the academy’s history. The project is expected to enhance the academy’s infrastructure and contribute to the growth and development of the local GA scene.
